German State Secretary Anja Hajduk tours SMA APAC training centre

German State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Anja Hajduk, has toured SMA’s APAC Training Centre as part of her visit to the APAC Hydrogen 2024 Summit & Exhibition. 

The tour provided an opportunity for high-level discussions on the collaboration between Germany and Australia in reaching net-zero emissions and exploring SMA’s global role in advancing renewable energy solutions.

During the visit, Hajduk was accompanied by John Alexander, SMA Australia’s Vice-President of Large-Scale, as well as Christian Knack, Manager of System Engineering at SMA Australia, Alexander Page, Product & Service Trainer and Tim Hanekamp, Grid Modelling Engineer at the APAC SMA Training Centre. They demonstrated the state-of-the-art training centre’s facilities, which provide practical skills and qualifications needed for flexible operation and maintenance of their energy plants to customers and their internal service teams across the APAC region.

Hajduk’s visit underscored the significance of international partnerships in tackling the climate crisis, with a particular focus on renewable energy innovation. This event provided a platform for the exchange of ideas on how both Germany and Australia can contribute to a sustainable future through cutting-edge energy technologies.

The visit also saw Anja Hajduk and John Alexander discuss the pivotal role that both Germany and Australia play in driving the transition to renewable energy. Key topics included SMA’s global legacy in solar technology and its critical contributions to large-scale solar infrastructure in Australia.
