Correction: no weed swap in 2023 but lots of other activities to draw you to Anglesea this weekend for this wonderful event!!
Surf Coast Event Participants,
This is a short newsletter to make a correction to the edition we sent you last week. In our promotion of the Angair Wildflower & Art Weekend it was incorrectly mentioned that you can take along a weed and will be given a native seedling in return. Please note that this ‘swap a weed for a seedling’ program is not happening this year.
However, rest assured that there are lots of other activities on offer to draw you to this wonderful event this weekend. Read on for more Angair Wildflower & Art Weekend information. 👇🏻

Angair’s Annual Wildflower & Art Weekend returns to Anglesea, this weekend, 16 and 17 September.
The weekend has been running for more than 50 years and is an opportunity to learn about the Surf Coast’s diverse plants and animals with a wide array of local wildflowers on display. The show also features guided walks to local wildflower spots, indigenous plant sales, and nature-themed works by local artists and photographers.
Several environmental agencies and community organisations will mount information stalls. The ambitious rehabilitation of the old Alcoa coal mine site is documented in a specially designed photographic exhibit. Other organisations include the Anglesea CFA, Barwon Water and the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority.
The event will also feature various children’s activities and a fauna identification competition to mark the start of the school holidays.
Other features include a rolling display of the Angair Nature Show which was developed during COVID times. This year’s digital show contains a raft of new material including two self-guided virtual Family Walks and a stunning selection of photographs of local birds.
“The Angair Wildflower Show has been an annual event for more than 50 years and it just keeps growing and including new ways of showcasing the natural wonders of the Surf Coast district.” Sally White, President Angair
