On Monday 25 April, Greater Geelong will honour the sacrifice of our service men and women by proudly commemorating ANZAC Day.
In our own way, we will pause and reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served in our country’s defence, and those who continue to serve today.
Ways we are marking ANZAC Day in Geelong
The City of Greater Geelong will install commemorative banners across the region and will lower flags on City Hall and other buildings, and turn the catenary lights (intersection of Moorabool and Malop Streets) red on the day.
Geelong will again pay tribute to the ANZACs in a moving projection display at City Hall. See the FREE projections show between 22 April – 1 May, 7pm – 11pm.

About ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day – one of our most important national days – began as a commemoration of the landing of Australian and New Zealand forces at Gallipoli in 1915 during World War One. It has grown to become a reflection on the service and sacrifice of all Australians who have served in conflict or on peacekeeping operations.
