BioPak has today announced its support of OzHarvest’s national food relief campaign, ‘Unite to Feed Australia,’ donating 50,000 meals to help the charity reach its overall goal of providing an additional 5 million meals to feed people in need – a significant number to increase the half a million meals they currently deliver each week.

As part of the long standing partnership which has already donated more than 337,000 meals, BioPak will also once again release the limited edition OzHarvest Christmas cup to help raise funds for the ‘Unite to Feed Australia’ campaign, where donations from coffee lovers can be made through a QR code – with $5 providing 10 nourishing meals to those who need it most.

The campaign also coincides with a significant 20 year milestone for OzHarvest, with BioPak CEO Gary Smith commenting on the critical work that the charity does in igniting change, reducing food waste and helping millions of Australians currently facing food insecurity.

“We are incredibly proud to support and join OzHarvest in their inspiring mission and movement to ‘Unite to Feed Australia’,” said BioPak CEO, Gary Smith.

“Community spirit and giving back to those in need is at the very core and ethos of BioPak and, as part of our longstanding partnership with OzHarvest, we are delighted to donate an additional 50,000 meals to Australians who are doing it tough right now. At BioPak, we share OzHarvest’s vision of a world without waste, and for almost two decades we have been committed to driving change through education and action around food rescue and composting.

“As OzHarvest marks 20 years of impact, we acknowledge that we are not just tackling food waste— but more so nourishing our communities to ensure no one goes hungry. I commend Ronni and the entire OzHarvest community for reaching such a significant milestone that shows how business, connection and collaboration can be a force for good.”

OzHarvest’s Head of Impact, Hally Lara, also commented on the partnership and BioPak’s support of ‘Unite to Feed Australia’.

“We are so proud of our longstanding partnership with BioPak and their ongoing support as we ‘Unite to Feed Australia’ to raise an additional 5 million meals for those struggling to put food on the table,” said Hally Lara, Head of Impact at OzHarvest.

“We are currently facing a hidden crisis here in Australia, with more people than ever experiencing food insecurity due to cost-of-living pressures, many needing help for the first time in their lives. We are so grateful to our partners at BioPak who continually help us to ‘Nourish our County’ and reduce food waste to help protect the planet.”

Limited edition OzHarvest coffee cups are available to purchase online for cafes and businesses wishing to participate across Australia, where patrons and customers will be able to scan the QR code on the cup to make a donation.

The ‘Unite to Feed Australia’ fundraising concert will take place on Thursday 7th of November and will feature some of Australia’s most loved artists, including. Courtney Act, William Barton, Daryl Braithwaite, William Crighton, Jess Hitchcock, Lior, Felix Riebl (from The Cat Empire), Danielle Spencer, Dylan Wright and more to be announced next week.
