Kananook Primary School

Repurpose It, an award-winning business and industry leader in repurposing premium quality materials, joins forces once again with Good360 Australia to extend their partnership into 2024. This collaborative effort is dedicated to strengthening sustainability initiatives in local schools, with a focus on enhancing gardens at Kananook Primary School and Aldercourt Primary School.

Following the success of 2023’s collaboration with Lalor North Primary School, Repurpose It and Good360 Australia are excited to continue their joint efforts in fostering environmental consciousness and providing valuable resources to educational institutions. The partnership will see the implementation of sustainable initiatives at Kananook Primary School on February 15 and Aldercourt Primary School on February 22 2024.

Advocates of closed loop resource recovery, Repurpose It shares Good360’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community empowerment. Through the Circle of Good program, Repurpose It will contribute soil produced from Frankston Council’s composted green organics to support building gardens at both schools, facilitating hands-on learning experiences and promoting sustainable practices among young ages.

George Hatzimanolis, Founder & CEO of Repurpose It, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “this continued collaboration is all about making a real impact – by repurposing materials and encouraging a circular economy mindset, we’re showing kids how to think differently about sustainability. We’re not just talking about it; we’re doing it, and that’s exciting! We’re teaching them that there’s more to waste than meets the eye – it’s a resource waiting to be transformed. Together, we’re sparking creativity, inspiring new ideas, and showing them how small actions can lead to big changes. It’s not just about gardens; it’s about growing minds and cultivating a brighter, greener future for everyone.”

Alison Covington AM, Founder and Managing Director of Good360 Australia, highlighted the significance of the partnership in addressing community needs. “We are delighted to renew our partnership with Repurpose It and expand our impact on local schools. Together, we are providing essential resources while promoting environmental awareness and educational opportunities which are at the forefront of how we operate.”

The projects at Kananook Primary School and Aldercourt Primary School will empower students to cultivate, harvest, and enjoy fresh produce while learning about environmental stewardship and nutrition.

About Good360 Australia:

Good360 is a connector. We connect charities, disadvantaged schools, and society’s most vulnerable with businesses willing to donate unsold or surplus goods, services, and disaster recovery essentials. Its mission is to ensure the excess goods and services that businesses produce every year flow to people in need rather than going to waste. The result is a Circle of Good that reduces need and waste in our communities at the same time so everyone benefits – from people to our planet. Since March 2015, Good360 has connected over 40 million items to Australians in need, through its partnerships with 450 businesses and 4,000 charities and disadvantaged schools. By 2025, the charity aims to have distributed $1 billion of goods to Australians who need them most.
