MT DUNEED ROAD REALIGNMENT & RESURFACING UNDER RAIL OVERPASS

We are about to begin road safety improvement works on Mt Duneed Road. The works affect the area on approach to and underneath the railway overpass at Freshwater Creek.

This area has been identified as a high risk section of road for traffic with a history of crashes particularly at the sharp s-bend under the railway line. To improve safety, the road will be upgraded to provide more consistent lane widths, improved advance warning of sharp curves and low bridge, improved lighting, guardrail and skid resistant surfacing.

To allow these works to happen Mt Duneed Road, between Hunts Road and Willowite Road, will be closed to traffic from approximately 3 November for eight to ten weeks. Clearly signed traffic detours will be in place during the road closure.

Some minor establishment works will take place starting 25 October.

Council has received federal blackspot funding to undertake the works.

If you have any questions or concerns please call Council on 5261 0600.
