The Geelong Waterfront is one of Australia’s most stunning waterfronts. The waterfront originated from humble beginnings, back when Geelong was founded as a port in 1836, the Waterfront has through its life attracted a series of prestigious awards.
Not to be confused with Eastern Beach, the Waterfront is a cosmopolitan and vibrant area with a hive of activity boasting restaurants, cafes, beautifully landscaped gardens and an amazing view of Corio Bay.
There are many different ways to explore and view the Waterfront. Take a ride on a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, or perhaps the trackless train is a better option. For those far more adventurous, check out the view from the air in a helicopter or for the more sedated, a 1 hour Ferry cruise is available also.
Make a day of it, with Port Phillip Ferries offering a service from Geelong’s Waterfront to the Docklands and Portartlington.
As the weather heats up, cool off on the Waterfront at Eastern Beach swimming promenade. They have a Shark Free enclosed swimming pool, kiddies pool, sea baths, diving platforms and all are patrolled by lifeguards during the Summer months.
Parking is plentiful and there is no charge for any of the swimming activities.
