  • Zolo launching One-for-One tech exchange program

  • Businesses hand in old laptops in exchange for a refurbished tablet provided to a community in need

  • Zolo clients include, Zip Co, Temple & Webster and Aussie Broadband

Zolo, the sustainable e-waste solutions provider, has announced the launch of its One-for-One technology exchange program, which will see old laptops disposed of resulting in a refurbished tablet being provided for communities most in need.

The initiative will see Zolo take care of all collection, data destruction and disposal needs and run tailored sessions with interested Australian businesses, showcasing the importance of sustainable practices, the benefit to businesses and the environment, as well as highlighting the communities which will be supported through the technology donations.

To qualify for the One-for-One program, disposed laptops must have not endured any screen or water damage and can’t be over four years old as Zolo seeks to to transform businesses’ old IT fleet into impactful charitable donations.

With e-waste the fastest growing waste stream in the world, Zolo, since its inception in 2020, has been committed to bringing sustainable e-waste solutions to Australian businesses in an often overlooked area of waste management.

As the holiday season approaches, many Australian businesses will be looking at how they may be able to provide for those less fortunate, with Zolo’s initiative paving the way as a straightforward and sustainable way to do so this festive season.

With some of Australia’s biggest brands already working with Zolo as part of the organisation’s Tech Recycling Program, others are being encouraged to join the movement and give back, especially ahead of climate disclosure regulations taking effect on 1 January 2025.

Franz Siasat, Founder and CEO at Zolo, said:

“We strongly feel that ‘tis the season for giving back and are encouraging all Australian businesses to support both sustainable e-waste disposal but also help provide tech solutions for individuals and communities who require them the most.

“Our service to businesses allows them to ‘do good’ and turn their e-waste into impactful donations, all while abiding by data security requirements. We know that organisations are unable to donate straight to charities, as they are not certified to do data erasure, and that’s where Zolo, as an ISO-accredited company, is there to help.”

With privacy also a major consideration for businesses, Zolo is ISO-certified when it comes to data destruction, ensuring peace of mind with all data securely wiped from recycled tech products.
